I created a new website to show my photos. It is my first site design and first public posting of photos, so please check it out and let me know what you think.
Love the Indian stuff. I have always wanted to visit the places in your pictures (and alot more in northern India) . If you come to the shindig make sure to bring some prints with you.

The website looks pretty nice Jeff. A couple of things you should check are that you have keywords associated with your images to assist search engines in finding them. I can't tell one way or the other, but its just one of those maintenance things. You have some really nice stuff in there.

I enjoyed browsing your site, Jefff. I like the gallery organization.
Check your text justification/wrapping, in your equipment list.
On my screen, your lens lines wrap, and that makes the list hard to read.

Looks good echoing what Mel mentioned about keywords and I will also throw in metadata as well. Right now when I look at your EXIF for one image on the home page there is the keyword 'website' but no metadata pointing it back to yourself. Whatever program you are using for editing should be able to handle that easily just so you work is not an orphan. Also on the image pages, see if there is an option to remove the ability to download the image directly to your computer. Yes if it still is easy to grab something on the web and if someone wants to take it they will but at least make them work for it.
Regarding the content some interesting locations and images you have there.

I remember you posting the hdr shot of Black Canyon, but I didn't follow the discussion further. I remember it looked too hdr-ish here, but it looks really nice on your site. Well done!

Jeff, nice clean site with a good and interesting collection of categories and images. Had a quick browse and the only points that struck me were 1) slight delay in loading screens; 2) problems with exiting slideshow mode; 3) text justification on equipment list (already noted by Bill); 4) maybe a little more thought put in to image captions, keywords (again already mentioned). All in all a pretty decent first website! - well done! Cliff

Very nice site, Jeff. In case you're wondering, the photo labeled "Bird, Delhi" is a Hoopoe. It looks better to have correct names for your wildlife, if you don't know the name of a species, just post it on the forums and someone will probably know. Also, "bird, Potter Marsh,Alaska" is an Arctic Tern. Really liked that Bengal Tiger pic peering from behind the vegetation.
Nice stuff, Jeff! I really enjoyed browsing through. I'll echo Cliff's comment about the problems exiting slideshow mode. When I'm looking at an individual image, the "back" button in my browser takes me not back to the gallery I was viewing but back to the main galleries page.
I also find that when I'm viewing vertical shots, the top of the image is uncomfortably close to the line of thumbnails, close enough to be distracting.
I also notice that your "Contact" link is a mailto:-type hotlink. Folks like me who don't use Outlook-type e-mail would probably prefer an actual contact page where they cn copy and paste your address.
Finally, I too really like your India shots. You might consider placing those galleries a bit higher up the page. As we all know, everyone and his brother has a Colorado Autumn gallery. The India images set you apart from us stay-at-homes.

Jeff.... you have a great collection!!! Especially the Indian ones...!! I am from India... so I know they are really outstanding!! Very colorful and expertly captured!! I noticed that when you are in a gallery like "Autumn in Colorado" the image captions are very hard to read. But I think this is a great effort...making a website own your own is not an easy task, you have done a great job!! ....regards, Rajeev

Nice new site! I like some of the White Sands stuff and some of the India pics as well. I think I'd go with a different image on the opening page, as I think you have some better images. Or maybe just eliminate the splash page and have the galleries right on your home page. And I might eliminate the HDR gallery, as most people won't know what that is and the goal of HDR is to make it look like any other image.

Thanks for all of your critiques and comments. I have updated the site with a few of the suggestions incorporated. I definitely agree that the captions should be improved and metadata should be added as well, and I'll be working on that next. In the meantime, thanks to everyone for looking, and feel free to offer any other suggestions you might have.
