The White Valley
Glorious conditions provided spectacular photography opportunities in Yosemite Valley this past weekend. A few other CANP shutterbugs were on site, too. I made many exposures on big film, but until the time consuming work is done on those, I can share some pixels with you. Canon 1DsIII, 24-105L.

Jefferey,

Nice image. It is amazing how much snow is on the trees. It looks like you got a good dumping this time - much better than your trip last Winter. Bad weather is good for photographers right?

Where did you end up staying? How was the crowd factor being 'opening season' and all? That snow looks pretty inviting to go snow shoeing or x-country skiing in.

I look forward to seeing more from your trip.

Jeffrey,

Sure wish I could have been there. Oh well, can't do anything now but drool over everyone else's images. This is a classic Yosemite winter image - what's not to like? I do like that there is at least some form and detail in the foreground snow. And this makes for a great b&w conversion.

Technically, this does seem a little soft and could use a small dose of web sharpening. But I'm pretty sure you're more interested in getting to work on the transparencies. I'm looking forward to seeing some LF images from those of you who were able to make the trip.

This looks like the left side of Curry Village Meadow, no? As Lon said, it's a classic Yosemite winter image. Very striking. Makes me wish I were back there.

I have a few from this area myself. Sure were glorious conditions in Yosemite over the holiday! I am with Dan, wish I was back and it was still snowing.

Gosh, I have not been to the Valley in years. This truly is a classic view of the area, Jeffrey.

So when are you guys going back??? LOL  :jump:

I am thinking of going just for an overnighter during the next snow dumping.

Looks like you had a great time :) It does look a little soft - could probably use a bit more web sharpening. Can't wait to see more!
