Our moderators and editorial staff certainly add tremendous value to this site. In order for our members to know them on a little more personal basis, we are developing Staff Profiles. These profiles can be accessed via the moderator links at the top of the forum/gallery pages, from the staff masthead on the Front Page or direrctly from the "Staff" menu link found in the header of all pages. I will update the Staff menu as more profiles are added.

Take some to to learn more about those who dedicate the time and effort to make NPN such a valuable and enjoyable resource to all nature photography enthusiasts!

...Applause!

Appreciate reading about your background, your goals for this website, and its evolution. As a relative newcomer, this info provides a good context to understanding the website and how it got 'here' and where it is going. Ken S

This is a great idea. I read every one of these profiles with interest. It does create a sense of connection to hear the stories of the folks that make this the comfortable place that it is.

Pete D. Jim, I doff my cap to thee.

And I keep checking the updates. It is very nice to learn why you folks do what you do for us.

Pete, I'm just the guy who swabs the decks.

Jim, reading about the genesis and popularity and utility of NPN, etc., was great. While I visited and participated in a few Web sites dedicated specifically to photography over the last few years, they've one by one fallen into the discard pile. I had no idea NPN generated so many unique visitors monthly. That's a telling stat.

Thanks for starting up this great community, and for continuing to swab the decks, as you so modestly put it, as well as coming up with new features and strategies like the staff profiles. It has to be gratifying for you to see your vision come real. The more I've looked around at how other photography sites are run, the more content I am that I call NPN home.

Here's to you, Jim, and all the staff and members. It may take a village to raise a forum, but it takes a leader to set the tone and maintain it.
