Happy new year everybody, and my best wishes for 2009.

For weeks I have been waiting for waxwings to appear in my part of Kent. They still have not made it, other than for fleeting visits, but on the 30th December I went to visit the group in Folkestone that Tony, Ian and others have photographed. The birds were very obliging, but often in poorly lit areas. For a few minutes, however, they flew into a tree where they were nicely lit and this is the result. I wondered about cloning out some branches, but have decided I like it as is. I hope nobody is getting fed up with waxwing photos.

Techy stuff:
Nikon D200 and 50-500mm Sigma at 500mm
1/1000 at f8, rated at 800asa

Fed up with them ??, I'd be happy to just see one in the flesh, meanwhile keep the pics coming

Not fed up at all, like this one David, the background branches don't bother me too much as they're mostly in shade. Great crest on top
