Different eagle view
Went out this morning to see what I could catch. Was cold and windy but the eagles had to have breakfast so they were there. The river has opened up with the warmer weather and the rain, so they have dispersed some there were some fishermen there as well. One other photographer was out. Interestingly he was from St Louis area 200 miles or so South, he comes up couple times a year to shoot eagles here, and I am headed his way tomorrow to Alton area to see if I can catch some of the swans that are or were there. Had a great visit and got a couple more decent shots. On the way home there were several in a field on frozen drainage ditch, I caught this one in a different shot than usual, The light was not what I wanted as usual but thought I'd share.
Olympus E510 70-300mm 600mm eq 1/200 F10 ISO 400 Crop from top to lose horizon, darkened a bit. some how ended with less rez than I wanted 83k ?

Nice shot of the juvie, Kendall..I really like the outspread wings here, showing the mottled colors.

Wally you will appreciate this, he was flying along side my van as I was trying to get stopped so it was out the window on the move. At least it wasn't the Mack though I did get a window mount for Christmas.

You're doing a great job with these BIF shots, Kendall.

I like the angle of view here a lot! Not too often you have a chance to shoot a flying bird from above. I would consider cropping from either the bottom or the top to highlight the bird a bit more. Gorgeous wings here! I guess I now know where the term 'spread eagle' comes from.
