The last afternoon of the xmas/new year break spent waiting for the Barn owls (who once again waited till it was too dark for photographs, I reckon they know that I cant afford a D3).
Gradually getting colder and colder whilst wishing hard that the owls would come out whilst this fantastic light was happening and then suddenly a Peregrine lifted all the geese, the noise was tremendous, as was the sight of them turning into the light.
Techs are, D300, very old Sigma 500 f4.5, 800 asa, 1/160 at f7.1, small amount of sharpening after resizing in NX
Not so sure cloning would greatly improve this shot, due to the number of birds which might be removed. Perhaps the odd one or two, bottom left for example, but no more
An excellent capture, reminds me of Bosque del Apache.

Agree with Matt about cloning out some of the birds to simplify and tidy the image. I might be tempted to crop off the bottom inch as seen on screen as it would take out a lot of part-birds and leave just wingtips of some others. But the light is great

Thanks all as usual for the critique
Funny that on my mac at home I cant see the sharpening halo's but on my laptop at work I can see them very obviously, more food for thought
