Birch Trees
Several weeks ago on a cold and dreary day I decided to try something different. I put an 8x ND filter on my Tamron 28-300mm lens and went out into the woods looking for shots. This one was achieved by extending the lens then backing it off and pausing several times using a 3 second exposure.

Phill, great shot. I have done this with 35mm and night shots but never even thought about it with digital.

Certainly effective. I like it as an image. I do feel that motion blur techniques are becoming very heavily used for this type of scene - but you've made it work well here. Strong photograph Phil.

Creative shot, Phil. The repeating birch tree trunks and the resulting strong contrast with the dark background makes this work very well.

Very cool, Phil. The strong contrast makes this work very well. Way to beat the doldrums!
