I've been going through some of my macro shots from the summer and found this one which I quite like but am not quite sure. I had some miner bees nesting in my lawn but found them to be very difficult to get close to. Eventually I found this one pausing on a Tulip for a second or two before entering its hole.
I have a shot of what is probably the same bee peeping out of its hole which I can post if anyone is interested.
Canon 30D with MP-E 65 macro lens. F14, 1/160, ISO 100, diffused Speedlight on side bracket, handheld, approx 2:1 magnification.

Great POV and detail. I, for one, would love to see your 'shot of what is probably the same bee peeping out of its hole'.

Matt, I really like your 'in your face' macro work.. It's always a pleasure to view and shows such detail even on the smallest of subjects. Another cracker!
many thanks for the comments. Here's the shot of the bee in its nest hole in my lawn

Excellent, thanks for showing. If you get a chance this year and the subject stays still for long enough, give focus stacking a go. With your expertise the resultant image should be a winner.
