The editor(s?) made wonderful selections in every category. Hearty congratulations to all winners. I remember seeing most of these shots, but not all. The wealth of great photography the rolls through NPN is amazing. Keep those images coming in. Good luck in 2009.

Amazing work! Congratulations to all of the winners! Every image is outstanding. It must be getting harder and harder every year to judge the winners from the amazing talent here at NPN.
What an inspiring, beautiful and unique group of images this year. Congrats to all the other winners...the work here is simply world class.
When I recieved word that I had been selected, it really was a cause for pause and reflection. When I first posted here, I came in with a good eye, a limited skill set, poor technique and a new camera. This community nurtured my growth through constructive critique, helpful instruction, and brutal, respectful honesty that one needs to grow.
For myself, and I'm sure some of the other winners, this annual award gallery is a community showcase, for I couldn't have taken this shot without the advice, encouragement and friendship of the people on this board.
Thank you ALL for taking me to this level. This is hands down the best group of photographers on the net.
I look forward to using my lifetime membership to the fullest!

I agree with Jim...if it wasn't for the critiques, advice and encouragement from NPN members, I'd still be taking just snapshots.

One of the things probably worth mentioning is that the gallery moderators aren't eligible to be EPA awardees, however, they produce some of the most consistently spectacular images seen on this website. Their images are always an inspiration and rightly draw many favorable comments. It's the quality of people like the moderators that push each of us to do our best, to find new light, and to strive to improve. They are just the best!
Like Jim and Toni, I took some time to reflect on the honor as well. Not a category winner as they are, but I'm very pleased with receiving a 1st Honorable Mention in Photo Art.
Thank you to everyone at NPN who takes the time to post images and to critique others. It is nourishing to the artistic spirit to have that kind of support. So I am most happy, after all, and quite aside from awards, to offer in kind so much of what I have received here at NPN.
Congratulations to all the winners = everyone who chooses to actively belong to NPN- and of course to NPN #1, who started the whole durn thing! Aspiring to create good art is contagious here. I hope we all remain happily and incurably infected!
As with the others, I was truly humbled by the Honorable mention for Weekly Challenge. I have been the MP in the past, but this is really quite humbling. The talent that is represented everyday in the galleries is world class to say the least. My heartfelt thank you for this honor, and congratutlations to all who submit images and critques to encourage and to further our photographic abilities. We are all winners in my mind!

Congratulations to the winners in all the galleries! And congrats to all the members for the great body of work that gets presented here on NPN. Of course with all the incredible images posted, it does make for a difficult choice at the end - all the images are worthy. But when I say "difficult," it's like saying, should I have prime rib, or lobster? should I get the Jaguar or the Lamborghini? Tough choices, but such a please being able to see all the wonderful nature photography in one place.
I'll second the congrats as well to all those members who take the time to offer positive and constructive comments. It means so much to everyone to receive feedback and every one of us has learned something from your participation. So Thanks goes out to all!
