Normally I lurk in the RMNP forums but since this is from Yosemite I will post here.
This was taken awhile back but I never liked the full composition and cropped the bottom.
Happy New Year!

Art,
Thanks for posting here in CANP. Quite appropriate with the wonderful image of El Cap. I really like the warm lighting and the fog really adds to the scene. I also like how you positioned yourself so that the trees nearly mimic the shape of El Cap. My only nits are on the left. First, the tree leaning in, and the second is the bare snag. I think with the fog, it might be easy to clone out - but that's minor anyway.
Cool fog and nice light on El Cap. I would echo Lon on the tree on the left leaning in. I would crop that. I would also clone the snag, but that is a personal preference. It is a classic image.

Art, very nice atmospheric capture. Almost just like the Galen Rowell version.
Arthur, thanks for sharing this look at this iconic view. Other then the possible changes suggested, this is an excellent scene.

Thank you for the critiques-i cloned out the suggested parts on the smaller file (quick and dirty).
Steve you are correct the Galen image made me realize to crop the full image and not show the trunks. When I took this image I also captured the reflected water...thinking ho and the reflection! But it didn't pan out as conceived. Cleaning up my files I couldn't bear to delete this image so I cropped til' it looked better.
Sincerely,
Arthur

Art, good to see you over here. Hey I was just there this Saturday and only wish I had this kid of fog and light! Very nice capture, composition and color. I think your crop works here.
It can sometimes be tough to shoot the reflection depending on the light. The dynamic range can be extreme.

Excellent presentation of this glassic monolith.
