Tunnel of Light
I've always wondered how the PCT trails deals with major freeways and highways so I walked down the trail from the closest parking area and headed for the freeway. This is a view looking west under the 14 freeway.

I've wondered the same thing, Steve. While certainly not as uplifting as your normal work this is good stuff. I can easily hear the echo of cars rumbling over the tunnel.

Is it just me, or does it feel tilted slightly CW?

haha, that's really interesting, and kind of sad in a way (that this is part of the PCT). Thanks for the reply in the other post - I'll have to check that out, those rocks in the background look really interesting. Good to know there's some pretty places not too far away :)

Cool image. I like the flow to brightness.

Looks like a great spot. Get yourself a couple of Maytag boxes and you got yourself some new digs.

Quite amazing look, Steve. Sure looks like a LOT of concrete got used up in this man made burrow. It does look to be very clean overall, at least in keeping with the thought of no littering along the trail.

Unfortunately there was tons of trash nearby due to the fact it's a county park.

This reminds me of the dark freeway underpass we had to go under when I was a young kid... to prove our manhood of course. Seeing this brings back some old memories. Good stuff!

Funny you mention that Eric, we as kids had something similar. A pedestrian bridge w/ a fence over it w/ the the 5 below. We had to walk on top of the fence with all the freeway wind across to the other side. Talk about stupid.
