Happy New Year to all,

Now that the holidays are over I have a few days during the upcoming slow months to get out and take some photographs. I have always wanted to explore the San Luis NWR. Does anyone have any suggestions for viewing/photo areas. Primarily interested in any recommended locations for sunrise/sunset. I plan on driving up early Tuesday morning and exploring all day for this first excursion.

Paul, I've been there numerous times over the years. Plan on spending all day at the reserve, drive the whole loop, especially around the elk enclosure (very large area, bring long lens) take your time driving the leeves, lots of waterfowl. It will be cold and probably very overcast, "tule fog", if you're lucky it may get a little brighter as the day progresses or the sun may even pop out later in the afternoon, good luck.
