First Post
Hi, as most people say I've been lurking for a while and am constantly amazed at the images posted here. I've been taking pictures for a while, hence my current camera (canon 10d), hopefully soon to be updated if the car can refrain from falling to pieces for a while  Anyway here's one of mine taken on the back garden, a classic pose I know but was pleased to get an uncluttered background.

(p.s. I hope I've downsized the image correctly  )

Canon 10d, sigma 50-500 cable release. @417mm 1/1000 F8.

Just sharpening and levels.

Regards

Scott

Thanks Andrew, another couple of feet to the left you can normally get my neighbours underwear on her washing line

Welcome to the forum Scott,

Nice post. Lovely colours in the background and uncluttered as you mention.

Down sampling looks fine - image may benefit from another round of USM after the downsize.

Welcome to the forum, Scott. A nice first posting, but I would suggest that next time you make the bird a little less central so that it appears to be looking into the frame a bit more.

Regards,

David

Very nice.... It does need a little bit of a lift in the midtones, as presented it is rather dark... and the bird also needs to be decentered.. both very easy adjustments to make that will lift this image no end.

Welcome and looking forward to more....

Hi Scott, cool first post and welcome. Very autumnal colours but would benefit from more space on the left for the finch to look into. Look forward to seeing more

Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome and feedback. My photoshop skills are still pretty basic with regard to sharpening etc. Will try and improve it for the next one!
