I made this picture in the spring about four years ago. The
location is on the old Mariposa HWY about 20 miles west of Mariposa. This is a lonely less traveled road with an occasional pastoral scenic. It was a simple image that worked for me. I juiced up the colors in Photoshop. I also made a background layer before adding a Gaussian blur filter and then flattened the image.
Canon 10D, Canon 35-105 Zoom Lens, white balance-sunny, 100 ISO
Bogen Manfrotto Tripod with cable release.
Thanks in advance for any comments/critiques.

Robert,
I like the colors, composition and painterly effect. It definatey shouts Spring!
Very painterly and very well done in that genre. Great colors and scene. Very minor nit, but you might consider cloning the stick that juts in from the left. I like this a lot.

Looks great. This is a perfect scene for that effect. I like the color palette. There is a nice diagonal formed by the big concentration of lupine in the LLC to the boulder to the tree that leads my eye easily through the scene.

Great image, rule of third and diagonal line, great color. A great overall composition. I particularly like the result of your post processing.
Wonderful colors and angle of view on this scene, Robert.

Robert,
Excellent use of the blur layer - the "Orton effect." At least that's what it sounds like to me. I love the colors and the soft lighting. Not a big deal, but I see a crop coming in from the left so that there is about the same amount of room to the bottom/right of the rock and the upper/left. Minor suggestion.
Nice work with this one. I like it very much.

Composition, colors and post-processing all look good to me. No nits here... good stuff!
This image is very appealing. I love the soft colors throughout and the wonderful diagonal flow. The tree and rock make for wonderful anchors as well. Congrats on this.
Robert,
I do like this image and agree with Lon that croping the left side of the composition would strengthen it. Very nicely done.

Very nice feel to this Robert....but then you had me at the word "Lupine"
I love that Mariposa area for them.
I also like the effect whatever one calls it.
I have yet to try the Orton technique per se, but loves your results.
I also like the added white Lupine that draws my eye to it...
Don't ya love finding old gems and then doing them justice in a new way.
Thanks for sharing this one....Kudos.
