Short Eared Owl
This is one of the Owls that Gary Cox showed fighting (bonding?) earlier in the week. I have only seen Shorties once before this Winter so I was pleased to get this even though there is considerable room for improvement. its a huge crop - only about 1/3 of the frame

1DIIn, 500/4 + 1.4, tripod and Wimberley, 1/1250 f6.3 iso 320

Nice lighting on this Gary, and I bet you enjoyed the experience too: always get a thrill watching these birds.
