this is another one from the evening on the beach at Sully Island. this time I have cropped a lot of sky and messed about with a couple of control points in Capture NX in the foreground to bring out some shadow detail although i am not sure about whether I have overdone the saturation, is it too "blue", is the overall picture too dark?
Thanks for the C+C from the last post, I tried cropping some sky and yes, it works although I liked the gradient in the sky so have decided to keep it as originally posted.

Now this I like, mood and darkness work just fine for me

Hi John, I like this and not too dark or blue at all. My only nit would be the lump of sand / seaweed at the base of the frame - it disrupts the patterns in the sand above and catches some reflected light. Think you could crop it out and not lose much, if any, of the patterns

Thanks for the C+C chaps, Magnus, I had a go at cropping the rock at the bottom of the frame but it results in the picture becoming "squarer" and it seems to lose some of the sense of perspective. I might try selectively darkening that area to reduce the reflected light.
Cheers
