I'm loving these macro shots, or should I say "self portraits"! The plain background REALLY sets is apart. I have no idea what that is...even though it looks like a cherry.

Deciduous holly, about the size of a small pea...

By the way, this is a cropped jpg right out of the camera - shot at 800iso with the Nikon x. For those of you who remember film - could you just imagine what this would have looked like with high speed Ektachrome, which was only ASA/ISO 400? My gosh we have come a long, long way...

Two really great posts, Tim! Glad to see the birds haven't eaten all the berries yet. What are you using for a macro lens these days?

Many berries and nuts are still in the trees - a flock of cedar waxwings will swoop down one day and eat all of these red ones soon probably.

I've got a pair of exotic macros and a Nikon 200mm micro...In fact I just took delivery of an entire box of exotic lenses for this Nikon - I'm not going to get much sleep in the next few months...

Great shot Tim, I see you hand waving at us in the reflection! In fact, there is a lot to see in the reflection.

Yup, also my pointed head - I look like a conehead in fact, but this was just a little while after my cougar sighting and my head was actually spinning...

Cougar sighting?
Tim, have you gotten any of the new nikon tilt shift lenses and what do you think about them. It looks like they would work fine on my canon with an adapter.

WOW !!! Great macro Tim. I like it -- not that it means a whole lot.

Gale - the Nikkors are MUCH better than the Canon lenses, especially the 24mm. Make sure you get a good adapter though...
