It is a waxwing winter for us in the UK and so I have finally got the chance to photograph this stunning bird as the last time they were here I never had any luck. I have been trying since December but got this shot the other day my best session to date. Most of my shots have been looking up so was pleased when this one fed lower down.

It's nice, I really like the light and the depth (OoF berries), but I'm not sure about the comp though, my eyes keep falling of the left side where the twigs are cut off and are drawn away from the bird.
This is a beautiful waxing shot. Great pose nice composition and lovely colours. The only minor nit: the oof berries in the lower left corner. I think they are a little bit distracting.

Nice one. The yellow berries complete the image.

I reckon I agree with Greg, and maybe this would stand a tighter crop missing the berries at the bottom and some off the top.
Just my humble opinion.

I think this is pretty well spot-on Danny, lovely shot!

I forgot to mention that as a potential sale shot the crop is ok but my comments were meant to relate to a web post. Should have made that clear.

I have had a little play and agree with you regarding the out of focus berries at first I tried cropping them out but the branch looked wrong so decided to remove it. I like to get it right but then hey waxwings are not here long so what the hell.

Really nice work Danny.. I like what you have done with the repost and think it does make for a stronger image. I know the difficulties you had with these guys and they are a first for me this year. They don't sit still to long and seem to be moving even if sat still..! Anyway, I like this and good BG.

Losing those berries in the repost makes for a much better shot in my opinion. Lovely shot.

nice capture danny, i have yet to even see one of these birds in the UK, i guess they dont come down to the south west? i think that with this shot there is too much around the edge of the frame, i know how hard it is to isolate, also maybe a litle to horizontal but thats just my opinion hope the CC is welcome.

Both cracking shots. The re-post would be my favourite of the two.
I love the background in this one, prefer the repost. Great shot.
