I like this Gail! Nice lines and textures! And ya gotta love that Canon G9!

Hi, Rick -
This is my first upload - not the right photo! I'll go back to my web pages and try again. It was supposed to go into a forum: favorite photo from '08.... after I sent it off I found the right upload/reply option box. So... I'll try again!
Thanks for the positive feedback - even if it wasn't such a hot shot!!! Gail

So, Rick,
Here's the image I was after...
Always tough to come down to just one... this is an example of any camera is the right one when that magic moment occurs. I was probably the second person on the scene after a rare snowfall and freeze on Mountain Lake/Orcas Island. Person #1 had fractured the lake surface and built an ice cairn (which Orcasians like to do... up to this point I'd only seen stone cairns) which I came upon just as the sun popped thru the clouds and beamed thru the layers of stacked ice - dried weeds in the background. Canon G9, image stablized, hand held, giddy!
Canon G9
30mm- f4, 1/250, macro mode.

Oh I like this MUCH better!! Great colors and nice contrast between the icey blue and warmer yellow!!
Heh, heh. Gail, I was surprised with your first pick (i.e., the wrong one). I recall when you took it and thought you'd had many more better than that. ;-)
The one that you did mean to be the best pick is definitely worth it.

Funny thing, when I went back to the site to reappoint, it did the same thing - a smugmug problem, so I had to load it up from the drive... Dave!
