My biggest wish for this year would be for camera manufacturers (and I'm talking about Canon in particular)to take more time over introducing new equipment and get it working properly BEFORE they start selling it. I'm certain that cameras do not need to follow the 'computer games' people and have updates just because updates can be had. I feel we are getting to the stage when new modifications are now being introduced for the sake of it and the differences they make to the final product (ie THE IMAGE) is less proportional. On top of this, the companies do not appear to be doing their Research and Development properly as testified by the amount of problems arrising EVERY time a new camera comes out (see Dave Courtenays last post). I for one struggle to find the money for new kit but when I do spend my money I expect the product to work without having to make adjustments, update software and in some cases just be lucky if it works at all(1D Mk3 !). Canon and others take note:- I am not an engineer, I am not a computer boffin, I pay you my money to make a camera for me to take pictures ........ GET IT RIGHT. OK, rant over, now I can get on with 2009.

This is somthing to think about. I am a Canon 20d user who will at some point in the future be looking to upgrade but I would not buy anything new from Canon at the moment.
A freind of mine is wanting to buy a new 5D MK2 but he has decided to stick with his reliable 5D MK1 & who could blame him.
