I'm looking to do some waterfowl photography in a few weeks and from what I read the Sacramento NWR complex seems promising. Any first had experience with the area. Any information would be helpful.

Sorry, no firsthand knowledge (I hope to make it out there myself in the coming weeks), but the San Jose Mercury News ran a recent article about the bird migrations in that area. Of note were a few festivals that are coming up, if that's of any interest to you (what caught my eye was the description of tours that access areas normally restricted to the public).
