This is one from my new feeding station, been having some lovely golden light lately although unfortunately along with cold feet!

50d, 500mm, iso 100, 1/500 @ f4

I like the composition but it looks a touch soft on my screen Ben.

Yes - a bit soft but nice. Interesting composition.

Not sure why your shooting at F4 when you have nice light! push the iso up and stop down on the aperture. You'll get sharper images then.....

Totally agree with Anthony, 200 iso would have given f5.6, slowing the shutter to 250th would give yet another stop making f8. I know these little guys move fast but every now and then they stop for half a second.
Lovely composition with this image.

Ben

I tried giving the image a blast of USM and it works fine. Give it a go!

A well composed image and I particularly like the way the bird is hanging vertically downwards. Not so keen on the perch the bird is hanging from, perhaps a little too large and overpowering for such a dainty species. Easily rectified for next time if the birds are coming in reguarly.

How cute is that.....I like the comp on that which is so opposite of all the birds that sit on top of the branch..... :toast: just sharpen that face up a little....

Very nice setting and comp

Agree with other about looking "soft".

Nice light & great comp. Not the easiest of subjects to capture an image of.

An interesting composition. Could be sharper.

Well worth returning, but suggest a little more thought about the perch/feeder.

Nits covered Ben but a great composition - something different

Lovely shot, very nice comp, head appears sharp to me but could do with more DoF as has been said.
