They seem to be like buses on here at the moment!

I've been trying to get a decent capture of these little fellows for a few weeks now, but they don't seem to come out to play when a) I'm there, or b) when the light is good!

This is my best attempt so far from a few weeks back, and strangely is one of the first I ever took of them, with me thinking I'd be able to get a much better one ever since! Needless to say, I haven't, so I'm stuck with this being the best I've got so far.

I'm not sure if I could improve this with any processing, and I admit there is not a lot of any interest to go on.

I just love the way these owls stare straight at you, assessing whether you could be dinner I guess?!

I would crop this one in more, as IMO there is to much sky.

You done a great job on the capture tho  .I love seeing owls in flight when they are staring in your direction

Good capture. I have yet to get a decent flight shot of anything. It does look like it is looking straight down the lens.

I think Alan's suggestion is a good one, but other than that I like it.

A very nice capture. Cropping is an opinion/personal thing, and this looks fine to me.

Thanks for the comments folks, much appreciated.

I'm thoroughly hooked on these fellows, and can't believe how much my heart skips when one ghosts into view! Sometimes I forget to press the shutter!

Nobody said taking pictures of birds could be quite as exciting as it is, whatever the result.

The eye contact is great. Best of luck with your future attempts. I've yet to have the pleasure of experiencing these birds in the wild. I can certainly imagine though, just how exciting it must be.
