Christmas Snow, Yosemite
I finally got my chromes back. Here's one that was shot the morning after the storm. This is the meadow opposite Curry Village.

Canham 4x5
Probably 300mm lens.

That's it! That's exactly how it was. This is the classic view of the event. Very nice, Dan. I think you can remove a good bit of the foreground for better vertical balance.

You guys sure look like you made the most of those recent storms in that valley. I like the symmetry captured here... particularly the way the cliff face and snow bookend the top and bottom with that snow covered oak in the middle. Well seen and captured!

Dan,

The first thing that grabbed my attention was the tip of the brown evergreen just left of center; even while the image was loading. It just struck me as that on dab of color in this monochromatic scene. I just love the winter dressing here and I like the inclusion of the granite cliffs above. I would agree with Jeffrey in cropping at least half of the snow covered meadow at the bottom. Otherwise, a wonderful capture.

I'm pretty sure this is called Stoneman's meadow, but not 100% sure.

Dan,

Wonderful deatil. I feel teh vertical comp is somewaht constricting. Even though this is what the pines call for, I think it would have worked better with out the granite BG andless snow in the FG.
