Fishing Egret
Not sure if this one works as well as I'd like so thought I'd see what the general feeling is. I think I like it but something about it keeps making change my mind. One of the few action shots I took with the D300 at Viera in Florida...I should have updated the firmware as the latest is supposed to be far more accurate with action.

The Egret had just come in from left of frame (obviously I guess  ) skimming the water as tried to catch some dinner before flying off, without stopping.

Nice action shot Richard. shame that half the reflection is missing but still a good shot.

My only change would be some off the left and more at the bottom.
But still nice.

Rather central, but still an excellent shot, be it a grab shot or not. Well seen/anticipated and taken.

Apart from a small crop, it looks pretty good to me. looks like you've hung on to the whites pretty well.

Held the whites really well, the only thing lacking is a fish!

Little off the left to help the comp, reflection is not an issue for me, the waters too rough to make it a worth while inclusion to the image. Like the wing form and the water from the strike....

Nice work.

I'd also agree with the crop sugestion to help de-centralize the bird. Good action.

Thanks for the tips guys. Actually, I thought about doing a crop but decided to keep the bird central as I liked the lead in line of the water trail behind the bird as it showed the line of it skimming the water...guess it didn't work after all
