Nice detail there John, the light is turning the greens to almost yellow and really brings out that wonderful, piercing eye.. Only minor nit would be the little dust bunny.. Very easily sorted so minor indeed..

An unusual pose, as you say, but I do like the lighting on the bird.
A different take on this John I like it a lot!!
Well framed between the branches ang great lighting!

John,
Love the lighting and also the angle of the shot. I see you use Sigma long zooms for a lot of your shots, I was considering the new 150-500 with OS as a present to myself, have you any thoughts on the Sigma lenses in general and that lens in particular?
regards

Thanks All
Brett -Where bunny ? (I don't doubt there is one but can't find it !!)
John
I have the Sigma 100-300 which is great for the closer stuff and works well with converters.Have to drop the exposure a stop on the d200 with that one.
I love the Sigma 50-500 but its a dust sucker! I,ve had the front off a few times. Would take a lot of dust to affect the pics though Not done much with TC's on that one.
I also have the 150omm macro which I,m still getting to grips with. It takes the TC's well too.
Don't know about the new one you mention.
How much ?
Cheers

Great shot, John, shows the bird off well.

PS: Is what looks like a dust bunny a defused twig? I would say i't's defused twig personally

Thanks
This bunny has me worried ! The dark bits on the top twig are buds, but there maybe something just above the twig further down.
Mind you the camera hasn't had a blow through for a long time.

Hi John,
Nice image no nits this side.
Do you find a change in behaviour after a session on the apples.
A Local flock of Fieldfare do tend to get a bit aggresive after a good feed in the local orchard??

Hi John,
The DB is just above the bud on the end of the twig that immediately above the birds back.. If that makes sense, it is there is not an OOF bud for sure.. Sorry about that..! Simon has seen it too..!
