I posted a digital image here a couple of weeks ago from my Christmas Yosemite trip. Unfortunately we were on the way someplace else and I took a few snaps with the idea of returning the next morning.
I did, but to my eyes, the light looked a lot harsher than it did the previous morning. The sky was more cloud free. So I didn't see anything that really grabbed me.
However, I did take one image. Even on Astia it was a little contrasty but I think I got it to look okay with some Photoshop work and Tony K's masks.
Excellent glow on the trees and BG. It is a little contrasty but acceptible.

Dan,
This is nice. I really like the composition. I am somewhat undecided about this type of coloration.
To be honest with you you set the bar so high with your first image from the D100 that I am looking for something similar. I guess I just preferred that natural beauty of the color image along with foreground sun/shadow combo.
That said this is still better than any image I got when I was there a week later and only caught the remainder of the snow you guys had while there.

The contrast looks perfectly good to me. Although I prefer the previous image from this trip because the various elements stood out more to my eyes. While I don't mind the coloration here, the elements all seem to blend together for some reason. Other than that, I might prefer a small crop from the left to eliminate that dark area in the ULC (that pulls my eye a little too much).

Dan,
I really like this one. I like it for it's warmth, in what we would normall expect cool tones. I would agree with a slight crop from the left to eliminate the dark ULC - and probably some from the bottom just to keep the same ration. The contrast looks great to me. The warmth and light really make this one for me.
Dan,
I agree with Lon, I like the subtle tones in this one. I also liked your earlier post. Nothing like being in Yosemite just after its snowed! Best Regards.

Dan,
I like the glow of the rocks and the shine of the upper trees. I would prefer to see a crop of a good chunk of the foreground snow. The background is a bit too gold for me, even being a goldman. Keep the Yosemite images coming. I am enjoying seeing them.
