Leaf on snow
Caught this leaf back when we had snow. Was walking back from shooting eagles, thought the light was nice.

Nice warm lighting in this image, Kendall. I think I might be tempted to rotate this image to the left in order to place the leaf more on a diagonal.

Toni's thoughts echo my own almost exactly. I also really enjoy the light (good eye), but would prefer a more dynamic composition. 600mm eq? You must have been a ways away then, perhaps shorter focal length would have been better .

I like the warm reflected light on the snow and the contrasting colors. At the time of shooting, I might have moved the leaf a bit so the seeds were in full light, rather than in the shadow.

Kendall, I like the subject a lot. Good eye! I also agree with Chuck about the shadow. The light is nice, but the shadow moving right through the attached dried berries is distracting. Would've been a good time to have a diffuser on hand to help with the shadows. Very nice DOF and details in the leaf.
