Moonset and waterfall
Ok, it looks like most of the CSNP group was out photographing moonset this morning. Me too!

I knew of a creek that runs through Cowtown that has a nice little waterfall on it and that faced somewhat east-west. After photographing some railroad trestles by moonlight I went over to the creek and sure enough could just get the moon in the image in the predawn light. I think tomorrow would be better as I think I could catch light on the falls with the moon still in the sky.

BTW-I was standing in about 3" of water so I was ever glad for good Gore-Tex boots.

A wonderful composition Darren, I really like the water level view it carries the eye nicely all the through the scene. And yes, thank goodness for Gore-Tex!

Thanks.
You know I mentioned the Gore-Tex since it was 26 here and these were old boots too. In fact one of the soles had popped off but I glued it back on. I was worried that it might leak not not stand up to use but they are still bone dry even standing in water up to the laces.

This is a different perspective Darren, wet and in your face! I'm planning to do more images from vantage points such as this, right in the water.

While the moon is a bit small in this version the perigee moon sure got a bunch of photographers out and about. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Darren, I like the perspective of the shot. I'm sure glad it was you out in the water when it was that cold. I don't mind getting wet (last years Spring Gathering offered a good opportunity for that), I just don't like being wet and cold.

It's nice to see some shots from your part of the world.
