I am sure this has come up many times but we continue to fight and search for pricing, the shows are in the Florida market that we do. My question is pricing work and we are new to
the art fair circuit and starting out at a bad time but still we felt
need to start sometime and get some experience. Have looked at others pricing but very difficult one fellow last week selling 16x20 framed for $50. Looks like some pricing for difficult times but being new to the scene really trying to stay more in line for good times. Right now we charge $30 for 7x10 or 8x10
matted to 11x14, $60 for 10x14 or 11x14 matted to 16x20, $80 for 14x20 or there abouts matted to 18x22 and all single mattes. We are in Florida region and how do these prices look or do you have any
suggestions. We also carry canvas and is there a price per square inch that I should be using to figure these to stay in line and up for suggestions for these also right now per square inch comes out to about 51 cents (15x30 $229.00). How you are dealing with this slow time and are you keeping with old pricing?
Thanks
Elena and Dennis

A good price is 400%. If you spend say $10 getting a print made. You sell it for $40. You can also figure in travel and any fees for the art fair.

Hi Dennis!
I've been participating in Art Festivals for about 2 years and pricing has been a pain. I calculate my total costs for a piece and multiply it by 3. Then, when I get to shows, I'll walk around and do some comparison pricing. In most cases, I've found my prices to be comparable. I live in Northern VA and participate in shows from Northern Virginia, Richmond, VA to the Shenandoah Valley to West Virginia. This method has seems to keep me on an even level with other artists even though my audience may change slightly. Hope this helps. :wavey:
