A very simple full frame shot of a buzzard, would be nothing out of the ordinary except for the bird looking right at you which catches your eye straight away!

Nikon D3,500f4afs/11,iso 500,1/640th f6.3,Gitzo/wimberley

That's a nice portrait Craig and as you say, the eye contact works great.

A very nice portrait Craig. The background is very complimentary to the bird. I like it a lot (and NO, I don't mind that it's a controlled bird). Is it my eyes or could it do with a slight rotation?

I could see that on a front cover somewhere, very nice with perfect lighting.

Good shot. Eye contact is great.
He is just looking if he is asking "What are you doing over there?"

Nicely lit and great eye contact and catchlights. A handsome buzzard.

Well done. Nice pose on a perfect perch. Nice details & comp too.
I really like this.

Buzzards are such beautiful birds aren't they! This is a nice shot, like the perch and like the pose. An improvement might be to crop the bird less centrally, although you might lose the impact of the perch then, don't know if this is already cropped.

well taken

Hi Colin

Though about that, but thought it had greater impact in the middle looking straight at me.
