Kestrel Close-up
This was taken a couple of minutes after my last posted Kestrel image. The Kestrel took me completely by surprise by taking off and landing even closer to me. Managed to fire off 3 frames before he flew, this is the last frame.

50D, 500/4, 1.4x, f/8, 1/80, ISO 800, +2/3EC, tripod.

It's not every day you get an oppurtunity like this . A well captured moment. Quite a bold and effective composition too.

Great shot. I suppose everything must be done very quickly. But personally I would like some more space on the top.
I hope I ever get such a chance.

For me a little high in the frame, otherwise an excellent little portrait.

Unusual approach to cropping.
Works well.

Good stuff. shows all the details in the birds face & the crop works well here.

nicely captured, but would agree with with a little more space up top.
