Dunnock, Five Rise Locks, Bingley, West Yorks, January 2009

Taken on a sunny but very cold day.

Techs
20D 400mm 5.6L x2 teleconv, tripod. ISO 1600, F14 1/500th, 3/4 of the frame. Usual process in Lightroom and CS4/Noiseware. Removed a bit of OOF twig behind the bird.

Comments appreciated

Hi John,
Always great to get a decent shot of a Dunnock out in the open especially on a nice perch such as this.

Really nice shot John. Indeed good to see one away from the usual leaf litter on the ground.

For me I think this is the best Dunnock shot I've seen. Very well composed and superb detail on subject and perch. Very well seen and taken.

On a personal note, perhaps a little tight on the left hand side. Otherwise a really nice portrait in nice light, well done !

Hello John

Its a nice shot but I can't get my head round why you would shoot at ISO 1600 when you are getting 1/500 at F11 it just doesn't make any sense to me, the 20D doesn't go well above ISO 400 so why ruin a perfect picture in perfect light, I also can't beleive why no one else has picked up on it have we all gone mad.
