No dramatic landscape, barns or deere to set this off, just playin with the moon. Some light clouds provided a little glow effect. Real close to what I was seeing. Slight curve adjustment is about it.
200mm with a healthy crop.

Wow!
The moon looks like it's going to pop out of my screen!

Nice, the glow adds to the lighting effect.

nice detail, the cloud glow is a nice bonus and really adds to the image
Ahh mannnnnn, I wish I could figure out how to shoot the moon (the one in the sky that is). I tried and ended up deleting my attempts. Oh well....always another time. This is a super shot.

There is some really nice detail here Brad, especially considering the significant crop. What were your shooting specs? I can never seem to get this much detail even with my 400 so I'll chock that up to poor focus and bad eyes!
Really nice bonus with the clouds.

Brad, great detail, it reminds me of the shot I saw during the NFL game Sunday night with one of the HD T.V. cameras that can zoom like a telescope!

This is the full image straight out of camera.
Wayne this was shot with my canon 70-200 f/4L @ 200mm f/4, 1/10, iso 100. Shooting in full manual mode I kept taking shots and dialing down the exposure time until there were no blown out highlights showing on the histogram, yeah getting the image as sharp as my eye would allow in the view finder was the hardest part.

Sounds about right Brad. I've read that a good baseline shutter speed for shooting the full moon is 1/15 at near wide open. Thanks for the info.
In my case, poor results are most likely attributed to the photographer and not the equipment!

Nice sharp moon! The APS-C crop factor helped out too. I've heard that lens works like a charm and is a better investment than the 70-200 L unless you do portraits. It also has 4 stops of stabilization instead of 3.
