Summer in the Valley
Since everyone has been posting these fantastic winter shots, but I haven't been up to the mountains yet this winter,... I thought I'd post a composition for a trip to the valley from last summer. Hopefully I got the scanning right on this one. I had hoped for a little more shadow detail. All comments welcome. Best Regards

Michael,

The scan is looking FAR better!! Looks like you have it dialed in. Nice composition of a pretty meadow scene. I am on a lousy work monitor, but it looks a little soft to me. Maybe a little more sharpening? Shadow detail is a tough one with chrome, especially Velvia. It is the least forgiving film out there. The shadows in this one don't overwhelm me and look just fine.

Michael, as Harley has mentioned, this scan is much better then some of your previous ones, and to me it is very close to a finished product overall. I think the shadow detail is very good, again as Harley has already mentioned. What I might try to adjust slightly is the highlights through TK's masks. From what I see on my monitor at least are some areas I think the masks might be of help. Again, this is not very far off, so small adjustments are the key at this point in time. Looks very good overall here, Michael.

Aughhh, It's got a warm and fresh feel. I look forward to the 6 month wait for this.

The shadows and color look fine and the foreground is nice and sharp. However the background looks a little soft to me.

Nice image, however.

Michael,

A very nice pastoral meadow image from Yosemite. I think the colors, contrast and general processing looks good. The main issue I see is just simple jpg compression. Not sure if you're using Marc's sharpening technique, but you should be able to avoid so much loss and still keep it under 200kb. Otherwise, I think this looks really good.
