I read of Marc Adamus and other using special processing techniques (e.g. combining three images, etc.). Where can I learn about these processing techniques that are used to enhance light values, etc. Thanks for any hints. Tim Stenning

This is usually called "exposure blending" Tim. If you google it you'll find lots of info. NPN'er David Clapp has a great little tutorial on it.

Combining images is usually used as a way of dealing with high contrast scenes. There are a number of methods of exposure blending: manual (see David's link, and the additional links at the bottom), Enfuse / Tufuse, or HDR (google these last 3, there are plenty of articles). You will end up with different results from each method. As such, you will need to experiment to determine which method works best for your photos and personal preferences.

Also, take a look at Tony Kuyper's Luminosity mask actions for taming contrast without resorting to blending images. I use these actions quite often.

Thanks for the responses. Now I know what I'll be doing tomorrow in the Moab library. Tim
