The elk in Ponca this afternoon at about 1:30. The weatherchannel.com said it was 12 degrees at 4:00 this afternoon in Ponca. That little bit of cold didn't stop me from rolling through Boxley at 7:30 this morning to go play in the beautiful snow up there today.

That's cold and early... It's always worth it though. I'd probably straighten the horizon on the first shot, but cool shots.

Nothing really special about the shots they are pretty ordinary. I don't get up there much so just seeing elk is a special treat for me. Here is one from hemmed in hollow that same morning. There was just enough water coming over to create some cool ice formations and the snow was a bonus.

There is definitely something mesmerizing and exciting about seeing elk. If I lived in the area I'm sure I'd find some excuse to pass through Boxley valley with some regularity.
