All these winter shots--to say nothing of the current weather pattern--are making me cold, so I'm taking a giant step back to the more palatable temperatures of fall in the UP. A lot of the birches were still green in early October when I was there--they tend to turn bit later than the maples--but this one, across the water from me at Halfmoon Lake, caught my eye because of its vibrant color.
This works well for me, the yellow birch creates an effective focal point. I actually enjoy the presence of green in the image, as it adds to the color contrasts a bit. Nice shot.

I love all of the splashes of color. I would crop or clone out the white tree trunk that is cropped on the far left side. But that is very minor.

Excellent color in this Kerry! The prominent birch in the center is real nice. The only thing bothering me in this is the bare dark spot just left of it but, we take what we get alot!
