Canon 1DMK2 | 100-400mm L | ISO 1250 | F/5.6 | 1/1000 sec

Another day - More poor light.

Do female Barn Owl's search for Male's or do the male's go searching for female's?

Just wondering with breeding season approaching us and only seeing this one female.

Like the pose, banking over with her back showing, shame there's no catchlight in the eyes.

Do Barn Owls have breeding seasons? my local ones will breed when the voles are plentiful which could be anytime. I know the books say feb and march but I think you'll find they breed when they want to... As for searching for partners, I believe both sexes will search and call for love....

Nice work.

That's nice !
Maybe a little less contrast or bit of gamma just to lighten the darks up a bit.
( On my monitor anyway )

I really like the composition here, a bit different to what we usually see. As Tony has suggested, a bit more definition in the eyes would be nice.

I agree that it is missing some detail in the eyes, but its a really nicely timed shot showing off the back detail. Great bg too.

Great composition and detail. Maybe a little catchlight added to the eyes would help too. Naughty, but it would be nice

I've tried time and again to get this sort of shot and never succeeded.
Well done, lovely shot.

Very nice, the pose of the bird is fantastic. I'd of been tempted to pop my flash (1D doesn t have it is know) to add a catch light but still a fantastic pose.
