This image was taken late summer 2007 on Lake Superior. The soft glow of sunset played off the water, and I opted for a slightly abstract composition to draw attention to this light. Thanks for looking.

Yes, I like the way that the water has this "wispiness" to it, which interplays very well with the hard lines and angles of the rocks. Nice pre-visualization and wonderful capture...
I think you did it at least to me the light comes through well. I bet it is real nice the larger it is viewed. Most of what you shoot is not something that I would however I like seeing them and thiking someday maybe.

Yes, the vast majority of my images work much better when viewed larger and in print. This image certainly would be better larger. I'm not sure what you meant by the above sentence though. Could you elaborate?

Joel, this is well executed with the ss, and a very stunning capture! . I like how the rocks and wave action curve to the upper rock that is standing out of the water, drawing my eye up there. This capture makes me long to see more of the upper part of the photo that we cannot see!

The light is fantastic here, Joel. I also like the sweep of the rocks as they merge into the sea at the top of the frame, The pinks that lead you out into the lake are just gorgeous. Well seen and beautifully captured.
I like how you used the curve of the rocks to lead the eye, Joel. Ideally, I'd like that rock in the water to be in the LR powerpoint, but ideally I'd like a lot of things. Nicely done.

Another nice one. The reflected light is nice and you have a great shutter speed that has just the right amount of blur in the water.
Makes me want to get back to the north woods.
Tim!
