Rook
Hello,

This Rook appears to be about to take off, however, he was perfectly willing to stay where he was but it was so windy he was being blown all over the place.

Rooks are not just the inky black birds we assume they are, their coloring is quite beautiful when caught in the right light.

This is about 80% of crop, took 20% of the LHS for the comp,

D300 + Sigma 300-800mm at 800mm. 1/640 second at 5.g ISO 500 + 1.0 EV
Tripod and Gimbal head.

cheers for looking

I couldn't agree more about the Rook. We have plenty of them visiting our garden and plain they are not. Nicely composed image, well exposed and a lovely setting for the bird.

This is great Colin. The composition is good, the pose of the bird interesting, and you have managed to bring out those irridescences really well with nice light.
