I'm heading up to Pagosa Springs next week for a couple days. I'm planning to do Treasure Falls. Can anyone recommend some other good shooting locations in or close to Pagosa?
My shooting time will be somewhat limited due to other commitments. Thanks

Wolf Creek Pass usually has some nice photo ops in the winter, especially if there's lots of snow. North Clear Creek Falls, south of Lake City could be nice in winter, though it may be too far. Other places like Wheeler Geologic Area, Chimney Rock Archaeological Area, and South San Juan Wilderness may be difficult to access in winter. I've also seen some nice ranches and old buildings along the highway.

The Chimney Rock Archeological Area, just west of Pagosa Springs, might be of interest to you, especially if you like Anasazi ruins.
The entrance gate is closed this time of year, but you can hike the road to the top and have the place to yourself. With a hike, you'll need at least a half day for this location, so it may not fit your schedule.

You're pretty limited there with the amount of time that you have.
Perhaps some locations around the San Juan River. The steam that comes from the hot springs as they meet the river can make some interesting formations when it's cold.

That's a tough area in mid-winter as many of the access roads leading to the mountains are unplowed. One thing you could investigate is taking a snowmobile tour. There's one outfit - Wanna Ride - that offers tours starting near the top of Wolf Creek Pass. You could maybe call them and see if they can tailor something for you to shoot the South San Juan Range at or near sunset.
