This snipe was rather easy to spot in the frosty grass, where he was searching for food (at least for what is was worth, in frozen soil). He was so busy, that I could stop the car, without scaring him off. The light conditions were poor (it was a very foggy day) and it was difficult to get a good shot. The bird was constantly moving and furthermore often partially disappearing behind the grass, making it almost impossible to focalize. Luckily there was a brief moment, when he actually posed, even lifting up his foot with it. After that he flew off.

That's nice Sandra!
Excellent. You could even brighten the bird up easily with a little selective dodging.
Still good as is though
Cheers

very nice Sandra, I like the frosty grass. The bird does look a little dark on my (uncalibrated) work monitor.

A very nice capture, the frost also enhances the image IMHO.

Very nice, unusual to see one in the frost like this. Lovely image. Maybe (just) a slightly lower angle, but still very nice.

I really like this Sandra - especially the frost - different to the norm

If you go lower, then the foreground will become more intrusive, and you’ll loose the legs and back markings,
Well done!
