Flattop Mountain
I'm on the fence about this shot, it seems a little busy to me. I would appreciate any comments and suggestions you guys have! This is from my recent trip to Glacier NP. I woke up a little late and rushed from my camp site to get some shots before it was over. So, this is hurried comp. Let me know of it works for you. Thanks!

I can understand why you wouldn't want to give up on it - those clouds are insane! I do find the rocks in the LRC a little distracting and it seems awful washed out to me. The swath of bare trees in the middle don't necessarily help either. For a rush job, not bad, but I can understand the reservations.

Ryan, it almost works for me. Like Bryan says, the clouds are great. The mountain range is great for that matter also. I feel there is a little too much foreground and I'd like to have seen more of the clouds to the left. A horizontal might have worked out more to your advantage.

Great, majestic scene here! I think it could benefit from some contrast adjustments to make it pop just a tad more though.

a decent shot given the rush to compose. The sky is fantastic but draws my eye out of the image a little. But definately worth putting in the processing time to make the most of a beautiful sky (maybe crop out the LRC?)

The sky is great....it does look a little over-worked here. Maybe it's just because it pops so much more than the rest right now. I like the exposure and the softness of the light right now.
I actually kind of like the LRC rocks, but it's a tough composition right now. Did you crop out some sky to go to this format? Perhaps cropping the bottom and leaving more sky will help with the composition better.
I agree in general that some more contrast....specifically bringing out highlights in the water, snowy trees, and FG rocks will help. I think the sky should be about 1/4 stop brigther.

Like Bryan said, It's worth re working. It kind of looks like the S&H tool was a bit over used. Have you ever tried LAB color space. I think this might be a good candidate.

Erik, the shadow/highlight tool wasn't touch during the processing of this shot. Just some local contrast and dodge/burn.

Thanks for the suggestions everone. I do agree this could use a little contrast enhancement. I am also bothered by the snow in the LRHC as some people have mentioned, I may crop that out, though this is a heavily cropped image as is. Maybe I'll see what I can do with the clone tool.

Do you guys think this shot is worth keeping around?

I sure wouldn't trash it. KEEP IT!!!!

Pretty much agree with your take on the image, as well as the other opinions.. I'd definitely work it some more ways and keep it..
