Unusual Blue sky due to VERY Cold weather

What do you think? I have only been taking photos for about 4 months.
Nikon D80 18-135mm Lens.

I think it's a pretty scene without the muddy road. Just don't think the road works.

Paul, I like the image alot. I particularly like the way the road draws my eye into the image. I would love to see more of the snow covered tree. Maybe another image cropped vertically to isolate the tree. You might even be tempted to convert to B&W. Overall, I really feel like I could be walking down that road. Jeff

For one of your first photos, it looks pretty good. The tree is pretty amazing. Did you get close to that and use it in any compositions?

I only have 1 other one with a closer tree picture. But I have alot of other pictures with the same kind of frozen trees. I will post my favorite after I can in 48 hours.

I think I might have gone up the hill on the right a bit. That might have made the road a bit more of a graphic element and it still would have embraced that tree like it is now. You would have been looking down on that field on the left, maybe getting some interest there, you would still have that house and nice blue light.

I'd take it is it is though.

I would have but we were visiting our fathers property in that area and everyone was very hungry so we had to go back in town to grab a bite and this was just a quick pic from the minivan lol.

I like it. Something to consider would be a tigher crop so that the tree is larger in the frame and renders a little more detail. Keep em coming.

I actually love what the road adds to the overall scene. I feel otherwise it would just be another snow scene shot. Also the blue color is enchanting.
