With the bitter cold weather of the past few weeks the various ice walls in the area are looking good. This shot is from Paradise Valley just outside of Menomonie.
I really like the subject matter, really neat stuff. The composition works well to isolate and showcase the ice. The image feels a bit to "middle gray" though. Perhaps adjusting the white point, or increasing the upper values with a curve would help a bit. Nice image regardless Phil!
Interesting image, I may come back to it about July and see if my perspective changes. I'm sure it is much better if viewed larger but it seems like it needs something not sure what.
I like the idea, and I think Joel's suggestions about a bit more contrast/brightness are spot on. Nice work...

I like the composition and the visual impact of cold, blue ice frozen so solid. I like the blues throughout, but agree about the tonal range. I'd like to see a repost if you've tried working with it. Overall, a really cool image!

Love the comp and subject matter and the repost is an improvement, IMO, but I'd go even further. I think adding contrast to the mid-tones specifically would really make this jump off the screen.
