Sunset tonight
I figured that it was going to be a nice sunset tonight so ran up to Horsetooth to get a few shots. Here is one tone mapped image, I haven't even looked at the hundred others yet.

Bill,

I agree, it was a very nice sunset and you have a good capture of the event. Love the gold & blue.

I was thinking the same thing as well upon seeing the wave clouds hanging strong around 4pm. Unfortunately, I watched it from the kitchen window. Maybe one of these days the kids will learn to feed themselves and get themselves off to after school activies. Until then, I must stay close to home.

I was hoping someone got to shoot this. I was watching some of it from work. Nice!

What a beautiful sunset, and doubled in the reflection.
Talk about the right place at the right time!

Terrific job in tonemapping this one. I would never have known you did that, and to me that's the sign of a successful edit.

The foreground looked strange to me before I read you used tone mapping. But it's just a little off to me. The comp, colors make me say, "ooooooooo."

What a view. Good luck sorting through hundreds with this type of magical light!

Wasn't that wave cloud cool!, glad someone captured it on film too!. This is nice Bill, beautiful blues and reds!. Looks like this mornings sunrise is equally as nice too, unfortunately though I start work too early to capture it :frown:

Wow, usually when I see a title like Sunset Tonight, I expect a "Wish I'd gotten a good shot of it" kind of a post. This is gorgeous, Bill, and the river really puts it over the top!

Thanks for the comments all. I put a couple on my website (link to the folder from the Blog) but they are all similar. Sorry you all have to work!

Beautiful shot Bill. The clouds, the light, the color, nice still water in the reflection. I can see how you could easily fire off a hundred shots. Ahh Digital!
