ACR5 + resize & sharpen CS4

Hi,

One from last year, I am currently assessing CS4 for work (have a few issues with it too) one of the features I am most impressed with is the new Camera Raw. All of the adjustments etc here, which include a little dodging and burning etc have been done during the conversion, nothing at all apart from resizing and web sharpening was done in Photoshop, this approach provides an increase in final quality (even if we cannot see it  )

All the best and hoping to get out at the weekend to shoot something new.

Super shot Phil, with a nice "bright" feel to it.

Issues? The switch to layer adjustments takes a bit of getting used to, but is better in the long run. The metadata Info panels feel a bit weird with the scrolling tab strip. Some actions do get broken and need a rethink too, but other than those, I've not found anything that's a killer. Quite like it really - nice not to have the jaggies on zooms too .

Looks like you had some decent light for the shot

I like this. Slightly different from the normal seal shots.
Nice and "gutsy "

Phil

Nice shot I like the different aspect for a seal shot.

Really nice image, simple yet effective. I like the almost double gradient look, works very well.

Personally I would have cropped it halfway from the bottom edge to the first wave, to try and increase the emphasis on the seal, but that’s a personal thing.

A really nice shot, which works really well, great timing. Well seen and executed.

Nice shot Phil - I'd have cropped a touch off the bbottom too but it does work well overall.

Interesting comments on CS4 - you use all the software out there so if you're impressed I guess it's worth a look. Will have to be to pull me away from my beloved Capture One though!!
