This winter I have been working on birds that flock together in large numbers. Geese obviously fall into this category and I have visited many places to try and get pics. I have just spent the past three days in Norfolk and got lucky with a flock of around five thousand geese coming to feed in a field that was accessible. I also got a decent sunset for a change which always helps.

Very nice Danny, Burnham Overy Staithe mill, I think I drove past you here then on Tuesday evening.
Thats nice Danny but I am not overly sure about the composition.... I just wonder if a landscape format would have been better as I feel the geese seem to be flying out of the image... although all rules are made to be broken, also I'm not keen on the goose that is crossing the mills sail...
I agree with Nick, there does seem to be a little bit of a wonk going on. I quite like this type of shot and could work as a portrait but landscape would lend itself very well. Nothing wrong with trying different things though. Nice stuff Danny.
Just a nice shot which I enjoyed viewing, so no analysing from me. Just a really nice shot as is in my book, which I enjoyed very much.

Looks like it was a cold night - hope you weren't sleeping rough again!!
Works very nicely though with a real sense of place - lucky you having a sunset this week though!!

the lighting and colours in the sky are spot on, a very nice image. If you could have got the birds to fly past again, a landscape version would also have been very nice.
Hi Danny, I have been viewing this many times since our talk yesterday and I'm affraid the jury is still out for me Perhaps a landscape format might be more appropriate and might swing it, however I am sure there will be more to follow

Danny
Really like the idea...
Is the windmill subsiding/leaning to the left, or does it need straightening?
