Spent a day in the forest of dean trying to get some coverage of the resident mandarins, most of the lakes were frozen over with only small areas left open,100+ on one lake was a sight!!Managed to get good coverage of this male who I thought was alone but after five minutes or so the female popped up from behind, one of my favourite images of the year so far.

Spot-on Craig, great colour in the water, good broken reflection and the central composition is perfect for it too! I'd be well happy with this myself!
A lovely symetrical image Craig; though I have to agree about the blue in the water looking too heavily saturated. On my screen it looks quite strange and yet the ducks look fine.
Robert
I think this could be cropped to advantage, re the left and bottom as I personally find it rather central. Also I would like some separation between the ducks, this obviously would affect cropping, as to the uniformed they wouldn’t know where one bird started and another finished with out studying the image rather closely.
Not sure about the “blue ice” as this isn’t what is seen often. Still an excellent capture, well seen and executed.
It's a nice image, good colour and detail in the subjects. However I would agree with Ray re the blue ice, I too find it a little distracting. Otherwise an overall well taken image.

Nice light, nice angle and of course great birds. I agree about the blue - if there had been less of it, it might have been ok.

you've done very well to get both of them and I like the low POV as well. The blues do look very strange on my monitor though - the ice looks electric blue in colour. :)

An absolute cracker of a shot, again great tones and good pov. There seems to be a stream of great images at the moment.

Nice ... a push-me-pull-you duck... Just think that blue needs toning down somehow which should be easy with careful masking.

Amazing light! and the view point makes it extra special,
I bet your glad well you stick it out for the day it looks freeeeeeeezing!
I image this would look great on a large canvas.

very nice, for me two things make this work - the low level view point, and the fact both are looking in opposite directions - I think if either were changed it would lower the impact that this image has - no nits from me - love it
